CHEF

YOU'LL NEED TO HAVE A WHOLE HEAP OF 'SOUTHERN HOSPITALITY', PASSION FOR AMERICAN CUISINE AND PRIDE IN SERVING PHENOMENAL FOOD. YOU'LL HAVE PRIOR HEAD CHEF EXPERIENCE IN A HIGH VOLUME QUALITY FRESH FOOD ESTABLISHMENT AND CONFIDENCE IN LEADING A KITCHEN TEAM DURING A BUSY SERVICE.

TO MEET OUR HIGH CUSTOMER EXPECTATIONS YOU'LL NEED TO LEAD A FAST PACED AND EFFICIENT TEAM WHILST STILL MAINTAINING STANDARDS, SAFETY, CLEANLINESS, ATTENTION TO DETAIL AND ACCURACY. YOU'LL TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR DAILY OPERATIONS WHILST ALSO BEING ACCOUNTABLE FOR QUALITY, HEALTH AND SAFETY, BUDGETS, TARGETS, PROFITABILITY AND BUSINESS OBJECTIVES.

YOU'LL BE CLOSELY INVOLVED IN THE DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION OF THE STRATEGIC PLANS AND VISION FOR THE BUSINESS. 

AS EXECUTIVE CHEF YOU'LL BE BUSINESS AND SYSTEMS DRIVEN, WITH A HANDS ON APPROACH IN HEADING UP THE KITCHEN TEAM BUILDING A STRONG RAPPORT WITH EMPLOYEES, SUPPLIERS AND CLIENTELE. YOU'LL PROMOTE TEAMWORK AND COMMUNICATION AS WELL AS INSPIRING EMPLOYEE CONDUCT, MOTIVATION AND MORALE. 

YOU WILL ENSURE SEAMLESS DAILY OPERATIONS WHIST MAINTAINING SMOKE AND RYE'S UNIQUE STYLE, HIGH STANDARD OF SERVICE AND HIGH QUALITY PRODUCE. 

YOU WILL HAVE FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR MANAGING STOCK AND BUDGETS AS WELL AS DEVELOPING THE MENU, IMPROVING QUALITY, PROFITABILITY AND CONSISTENCY. 

OUR MANAGERS CULTIVATE BRAND AWARENESS AS WELL AS INDUSTRY KNOWLEDGE, TAKING A KEEN AND CONFIDENT INTEREST IN ALL ASPECTS OF THE BUSINESS. YOU'LL NEED TO BE ABLE TO SELL THE EXPERIENCE. 

THE BASICS

  • FULL TIME POSITION

  • MUST BE 18+

  • MUST HAVE 5+ YEARS EXPERIENCE IN A SIMILAR ROLE WITHIN HIGH VOLUME QUALITY LED FRESH FOOD ESTABLISHMENTS

  • MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH AMERICAN CUISINE 

  • MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH MULTI SITE ESTABLISHMENTS 

  • MUST BE FLEXIBLE, ADAPTABLE, DEPENDABLE AND COMMITTED 

  • MUST BE ABLE TO WORK LATE NIGHTS, WEEKENDS AND SCHOOL/ BANK HOLIDAYS

  • MUST BE ABLE TO REMAIN FOCUSED AND PROFESSIONAL IN A FAST PACED AND BUSY ENVIRONMENT 

  • MUST HAVE PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE WITH THE ENVIRONMENT HEALTH AGENCY AND FOLLOW ALL HEALTH DEPARTMENT REQUIREMENTS AND CONSISTENTLY MAINTAIN A CLEAN AND SAFE WORKING ENVIRONMENT

  • USES EXCELLENT JUDGEMENT AND IDENTIFIES PROBLEMS, ABLE TO WORK QUICKLY TO FIND SOLUTIONS

  • SHOULD HAVE A PROACTIVE APPROACH 

  • WORK EFFECTIVELY WITH OTHERS, ON ALL LEVELS, IN A POSITIVE AND PROFESSIONAL MANNER

  • HAS EXCELLENT COMMUNICATION SKILLS WHICH INCLUDE THE ABILITY TO USE CLEAR, CONCISE AND GRAMMATICALLY CORRECT WRITTEN AND ORAL LANGUAGE WITH A FRIENDLY AND PROFESSIONAL MANNER IN INTERACTIONS WITH CLIENTELE, SUPPLIERS AND COLLEAGUES AT ALL LEVEL

  • MUST BE ABLE TO WORK WELL WITH OTHERS OR INDEPENDENTLY

  • MUST BE ABLE TO MULTITASK AND BE VERSATILE 

  • MUST BE COMPUTER LITERATE AND HAVE EXCELLENT SYSTEMS KNOWLEDGE AND CONFIDENCE IN USING MULTIPLE SOFTWARE PLATFORMS 

  • MUST SEEK TO CONTINUOUSLY DEVELOP AND IMPROVE SYSTEMS, PROCESSES AND EFFICIENCY

  • MUST BE CONFIDENT IN RECRUITMENT AND HR PROCEDURES 

  • MUST HAVE EXCELLENT MENTORING AND LEADERSHIP SKILLS IN ORDER TO EVOLVE YOUR TEAM TO CONTINUED SUCCESS
