YOU'LL NEED TO HAVE A WHOLE HEAP OF 'SOUTHERN STYLE HOSPITALITY' DRIVE FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND PRIDE IN SERVING PHENOMENAL ALL AMERICAN EATS. YOU'LL HAVE SOME PRIOR FRONT OF HOUSE SUPERVISORY EXPERIENCE IDEALLY IN A FAST PACED HIGH VOLUME ESTABLISHMENT WITH CONFIDENCE IN THE BASICS - EVEN BETTER IF YOU'VE GOT THE TASTE FOR AMERICAN CRAFT FOOD AND DRINK.

THE BASICS

  • FULL TIME POSITION 

  • MUST BE 18+ YEARS OF AGE

  • MUST HAVE 3+ YEARS EXPERIENCE IN A SIMILAR ROLE WITHIN A HIGH VOLUME QUALITY LEAD ESTABLISHMENT 

  • MUST BE OPEN AND WILLING TO LEARN NEW SKILLS

  • MUST BE FLEXIBLE, ADAPTABLE, DEPENDABLE AND A TEAM PLAYER 

  • MUST BE ABLE TO WORK LATE NIGHTS, WEEKENDS AND SCHOOL/ BANK HOLIDAYS

  • MUST BE ABLE TO REMAIN FOCUSED AND PROFESSIONAL IN A FAST PACED AND BUSY ENVIRONMENT 

  • MUST FOLLOW ALL HEALTH DEPARTMENT REQUIREMENTS AND CONSISTENTLY MAINTAIN A CLEAN WORKING ENVIRONMENT 

  • MUST HAVE AN UNDERSTANDING OF LICENSING LAW AND LEGAL REQUIREMENTS SUCH AS CHALLENGE 25 POLICY

  • USES EXCELLENT JUDGEMENT 

  • SHOULD HAVE A PROACTIVE APPROACH TO IDENTIFY PROBLEMS AND WORKS QUICKLY FIND SOLUTIONS

  • WORKS EFFECTIVELY WITH OTHERS, ON ALL LEVELS, IN A POSITIVE AND PROFESSIONAL MANNER

  • HAS EXCELLENT COMMUNICATION SKILLS WHICH INCLUDE THE ABILITY TO USE CLEAR, CONCISE, AND GRAMMATICALLY CORRECT WRITTEN ORAL LANGUAGE IN INTERACTIONS WITH CUSTOMERS, COLLEAGUES, AND MANAGEMENT 

  • MUST BE ABLE TO MULTITASK AND BE FLEXIBLE IN A FAST-PACED ENVIRONMENT 

  • MUST BE ABLE TO WORK WELL WITH OTHERS OR INDEPENDENTLY

  • MUST BE COMPUTER LITERATE AND HAVE EXCELLENT SYSTEMS KNOWLEDGE AND CONFIDENCE IN USING MULTIPLE SOFTWARE PLATFORMS 

  • MUST SEEK TO CONTINUOUSLY IMPROVE SYSTEMS, PROCESSES AND EFFICIENCY

  • MUST HAVE EXCELLENT MENTORING AND LEADERSHIP SKILLS IN ORDER TO EVOLVE YOUR TEAM TO CONTINUED SUCCESS

AS HEAD SERVER YOU'LL BE CUSTOMER SERVICE DRIVEN, WITH A HANDS ON APPROACH IN HEADING UP THE BAR AND FRONT OF HOUSE TEAMS BUILDING STRONG RAPPORT WITH EMPLOYEES, SUPPLIERS AND CLIENTELE. YOU'LL PROMOTE TEAMWORK AND COMMUNICATION AS WELL AS INSPIRING EMPLOYEE CONDUCT, MOTIVATION AND MORALE. 

TO MEET OUR HIGH CUSTOMER EXPECTATIONS YOU'LL NEED TO BE FAST PACED AND EFFICIENT WHILST STILL MAINTAINING STANDARDS, SAFETY, CLEANLINESS, ACCURACY AND PERSONAL INTEGRITY AND RESPONSIBILITY. 

HEADING UP OUR TEAM OF SERVERS YOU WILL NEED TO BE A FOOD & DRINK GEEK AND CONNOISSEUR OF OUR SPECIALIST AMERICAN MENUS INCLUDING OUR EXTENSIVE RANGE OF SMOKED MEATS, AMERICAN WHISKIES AND BOURBONS, CUSTOM COCKTAILS AND EXCLUSIVE WINES.

YOU'LL NEED TO BE ABLE TO SELL THE EXPERIENCE TO OUR CUSTOMERS. YOU'LL ALSO NEED TO TAKE A KEEN INTEREST IN ALL AREAS OF SERVICE AND BE ABLE TO ANSWER ANY CUSTOMER QUESTIONS.

AS WELL AS WORKING CLOSELY WITH THE RESTAURANT MANAGER TO ENSURE A SEAMLESS CUSTOMER JOURNEY PROMOTING A POSITIVE EXPERIENCE AND MAINTAINING SMOKE & RYE'S UNIQUE STYLE AND HIGH STANDARD OF SERVICE. YOU'LL NEED TO BE FLEXIBLE IN ASSISTING AND DIRECTING OUR SERVERS IN TAKING ORDERS AND DELIVERING FOOD AND DRINK TO CUSTOMERS.
