SOUS CHEF

WE ARE LOOKING TO RECRUIT A SOUS CHEF WITH A WHOLE HEAP OF PASSION FOR AMERICAN CUISINE, QUALITY PRODUCE AND PRIDE IN SERVING PHENOMENAL FOOD. YOU'LL HAVE PRIOR KITCHEN EXPERIENCE IN A HIGH VOLUME QUALITY ESTABLISHMENT AND CONFIDENCE IN FOOD PREPARATION AND COOKING DURING A BUSY SERVICE. 

TO MEET OUR HIGH CUSTOMER EXPECTATIONS YOU'LL NEED TO BE FAST PASCED AND EFFICIENT WHILST STILL MAINTAINING EXCEPTIONALLY HIGH STANDARDS, SAFETY, CLEANLINESS, A KEEN EYE FOR DETAIL, ACCURACY AND CONSISTENCY. 

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE AT LEAST 3 YEARS EXPERIENCE IN A SIMILAR HOSPITALITY POSITION AND POSSESS A CLEAR VISION OF THE LEVELS OF QUALITY AND STYLE OF FOOD AND SERVICE THAT ARE EXPECTED.

YOU'LL TAKE ON A POSITION AS PART OF THE KITCHEN TEAM, WORKING CLOSELY WITH EXPERIENCED AND PASSIONATE CHEFS, YOU'LL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO DEVELOP NEW SKILLS, LEARN UNIQUE COOKING TECNIQUES WHILST WORKING WITH HIGH QUALITY, FRESH AND SPECIALLY SOURCED INGREDIENTS. 

AS SOUS CHEF YOU'LL HOLD RESPONSIBILITIES IN FRESH FOOD PREPARATION, COOKING, SERVING, TRAINING, MANAGING STOCK, COMPLETING DAILY PAPERWORK AND CHECKLISTS AND MAINTAINING A HIGH STANDARD OF CLEANLINESS IN ALL KITCHEN, STOCK AND STORAGE AREAS. 

THE BASICS

  • FULL TIME POSITION

  • MUST HAVE 3+ YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN A SIMILAR ROLE WITHIN HIGH VOLUME QUALITY LEAD ESTABLISHMENTS 

  • IDEALLY YOU'LL HAVE FIRST HAND EXPERIENCE WITH AMERICAN CUISINE

  • MUST HAVE FOOD SAFETY AND HYGIENE TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS 

  • MUST BE OPEN AND WILLING TO LEARN NEW SKILLS 

  • MUST BE FLEXIBLE, ADAPTABLE, DEPENDABLE AND A TEAM PLAYER

  • MUST BE ABLE TO WORK LATE NIGHTS, WEEKENDS AND SCHOOL/ BANK HOLIDAYS

  • MUST FOLLOW ALL HEALTH DEPARTMENT REQUIREMENTS AND CONSISTENTLY MAINTAIN A CLEAN WORKING ENVIRONMENT

  • MUST BE ABLE TO REMAIN FOCUSED AND PROFESSIONAL IN A FAST PACED AND BUSY ENVIRONMENT 

  • USES EXCELLENT JUDGEMENT AND IDENTIFIES PROBLEMS, ABLE TO WORK QUICKLY TO FIND SOLUTIONS

  • SHOULD HAVE A PROACTIVE APPROACH

  • HAS EXCELLENT COMMUNICATION SKILLS WHICH INCLUDE THE ABILITY TO USE CLEAR, CONCISE AND GRAMMATICALLY CORRECT WRITTEN AND ORAL LANGUAGE WITH A FRIENDLY AND PROFESSIONAL MANNER IN INTERACTIONS WITH CLIENTELE, SUPPLIERS AND COLLEAGUES AT ALL LEVELS

  • MUST BE ABLE TO MULTITASK AND BE VERSATILE 

  • WORKS EFFECTIVELY WITH OTHERS, ON ALL LEVELS, IN A POSITIVE AND PROFESSIONAL MANNER

  • HAS EXCELLENT COMMUNICATION SKILLS WHICH INCLUDE THE ABILITY TO USE CLEAR, CONCISE AND GRAMMATICALLY CORRECT WRITTEN AND ORAL LANGUAGE IN INTERACTIONS WITH CUSTOMERS, COLLEAGUES, AND MANAGEMENT
