WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

WE ARE CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR FULL TIME AND PART TIME EXPERIENCED SERVERS TO JOIN OUR FRONT OF HOUSE TEAM. 

 

YOU’LL NEED TO HAVE A WHOLE HEAP OF ‘SOUTHERN STYLE’ FRIENDLY HOSPITALITY, DRIVE FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND PRIDE IN SERVING PHENOMENAL ALL AMERICAN EATS. YOU’LL HAVE SOME PRIOR FRONT OF HOUSE EXPERIENCE AND CONFIDENCE IN THE BASICS OF SERVICE.

AS A MEMBER OF THE FRONT OF HOUSE TEAM YOU’LL BE CUSTOMER FOCUSED. YOU’LL BE SERVING MIND-BLOWING FOOD AND DRINK WHILST LOOKING AFTER OUR CUSTOMERS ENSURING THAT THEY FEEL COMFORTABLE, AT EASE AND HAVE THE BEST TIME POSSIBLE WHILST THEY’RE WITH US. 

 

TO MEET OUR HIGH CUSTOMER EXPECTATIONS AND ‘SOUTHERN FRIENDLY’ STYLE OF SERVICE, YOU’LL NEED TO BE FAST PACED, EFFICIENT, KIND, HELPFUL AND COMPLETELY CHARMING. 

 

TO DELIVER THE BEST SERVICE YOU’LL NEED TO BE A FOOD & DRINK GEEK, CONNOISSEUR OF OUR UNIQUE MENUS AND THE STORY OF SMOKE & RYE. 

 

YOU’LL NEED TO BE ABLE TO SELL THE EXPERIENCE AND BUILD CONNECTIONS WITH OUR CUSTOMERS, CONFIDENTLY ANSWERING THEIR QUESTIONS BY TAKING A KEEN INTEREST IN ALL AREAS OF SERVICE. 

 

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR WAITING TABLES, TAKING ORDERS, PROCESSING PAYMENTS AND DELIVERING FOOD & DRINK TO TABLES. PROVIDING THE BEST CUSTOMER JOURNEY, PROMOTING A POSITIVE EXPERIENCE AND KEEPING UP SMOKE & RYE’S GOOD VIBES, GOOD REPUTATION AND HIGH STANDARD OF SERVICE. 

THE BASICS

  • PRIOR CUSTOMER SERVICE / FRONT OF HOUSE EXPERIENCE IS ESSENTIAL

  • MUST BE ABLE TO MULTITASK AND BE FLEXIBLE IN ORDER TO MEET CUSTOMER NEEDS 

  • MUST BE ADAPTABLE, DEPENDABLE AND A TEAM PLAYER 

  • MUST BE ABLE TO REMAIN FOCUSED AND PROFESSIONAL IN A FAST PACED AND BUSY ENVIRONMENT 

  • SHOULD BE OPEN AND WILLING TO LEARN NEW SKILLS 

  • SHOULD HAVE A PROACTIVE APPROACH TO IDENTIFY PROBLEMS AND WORK QUICKLY TO FIND SOLUTIONS 

  • WORKS EFFECTIVELY WITH OTHERS, ON ALL LEVELS, IN A POSITIVE AND PROFESSIONAL MANNER 

  • SHOULD BE ABLE TO WORK WELL WITH THE TEAM OR INDEPENDENTLY

 

  • MUST HAVE AN UNDERSTANDING OF LICENSING LAW AND LEGAL REQUIREMENTS SUCH AS CHALLENGE 25 POLICY 

  • MUST HAVE AN UNDERSTANDING OF HEALTH DEPARTMENT REQUIREMENTS, CONSISTENTLY MAINTAINING A CLEAN WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND CORRECTLY HANDLING STOCK

  • HAS EXCELLENT COMMUNICATION SKILLS WHICH INCLUDES THE ABILITY TO USE CLEAR, CONCISE, AND GRAMMATICALLY CORRECT WRITTEN AND ORAL LANGUAGE IN INTERACTIONS WITH CUSTOMERS, SUPPLIERS, COLLEAGUES AND MANAGEMENT
